So, I’m hanging out with one of my friends tonight, and we’re thinking about these funny videos we liked by Garfunkel and Oates- i.e. the pregnant women are smug ladies, and, though we could have turned on his computer, we decide to be lazy and do the youtube thing on my phone.
We find the videos without a hitch, but then, inspired by a song they do filled with songs from their youth they hate (some of which we liked), we decide to go deeper into youtube, looking for Deep Blue Something- Breakfast at Tiffany’s (shut up, I know it has a hatedom, but I like it). Anyway, we’re trying to find the actual video, or at least the actual version of the song. And instead we find a douche with a guitar. Youtube is filled with so many fucking douches with guitars.
And…then we find a bunch of topless teenage boys. And then some jacked up sounding demon version of the song. And then some crazy woman dancing. Total youtube hell. So, we determined the actual song is not on youtube (somehow) and give up.
We move onto Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind. That we find pretty easily actually. Then we look for that Beautiful Girls song by Sean Kingston. That also isn’t difficult to find…but the comments. Oh Lord the comments. Some asshole comments, complaining that the video is not an accurate portrayal of the 1950’s because the “darker” skinned people and the white people were sitting together. So..someone responds by calling them a fag. Youtube comments- where hope goes to die.
When we go to look for Under the Boardwalk- it only gets worse. We find the Drifters at the age of 100 singing the song off-key…and…other stuff that zapped my will to live. Sometimes I hate the internet
